Granny Shifting, Not Double Clutching Like You Should - How to Double Clutch

Granny Shifting, Not Double Clutching Like You Should - How to Double Clutch

In this video, I show you how to double clutch in a manual car. I’m using my Honda Accord Coupe for the video with a 5 speed manual transmission. It the same process for any manual car. Double clutching is a method of shifting gears used primarily for vehicles with an unsynchronized manual transmission, such as commercial trucks and specialty vehicles. The same action can be done on vehicles with synchronized gears should you have a bad synchro, or just want to not put much pressure on the synchros. Restore Neglected Headlights to BETTER THAN NEW Condition

Restore Neglected Headlights to BETTER THAN NEW Condition

Hazed and sun-faded headlights are not only unsafe, but they look atrocious. They can make any car that is in good condition, look neglected and abused. The reason why headlights with polycarbonate (a.k.a. plastic) lenses begin to look cloudy and faded is because the UV resistant coating on the lens has seen some wear and tear due to the constant abuse from road grime, bugs, rocks, dirt, snow, salt, etc. When the UV resistant coating begins to pit, it will expose the bare polycarbonate lens. When that is done, the constant UV rays from the sun will oxidize the composition of the plastic and create the faded, cloudy lens. To repair this problem, sanding the entire headlight is a must so that the failing UV coating that was applied when the headlight was made, is completely removed. You will then need to remove the scratches and the haze from the lens by polishing and restoring it to new condition. At that point, the headlight will look crystal clear and will be able to allow light through the lens instead of being distorted from the haze. If it is left like that, it will begin to haze again in a matter of no time, especially if you live in an environment where your car will see alot of sun. The best way to prevent the oxidation is from a Paint Protection Film. Since it is a UV resistant film, the sun’s UV rays won’t be able to deteriorate the lens. Not only does the PPF absorb small impacts like rock chips and debris (so the UV coating will not be compromised), but it will be able to be replaced quite easily. I also find that removing the headlights / masking the entire car, is a pain in the butt so that we can paint a layer of clear coat over the lens, which will eventually fade due to the same pitting problem we have with the headlight being at the front of the car. The exact 3M film I showed in this video can be purchased here (https://goo.gl/FTzN5P). It is also available in many different sizes. You can purchase the roll to do a custom piece like your headlight, and you can also purchase pre-cut kits for your car by following this link here (https://goo.gl/psw29p). How to Remove Rust with Electricity

How to Remove Rust with Electricity

*I MADE AN ERROR IN THIS VIDEO* You want the ground connection to the parts that you want to remove the rust FROM, and the positive connection on the sacrificial piece of metal. In this video, I show you how to remove rust without any effort. You can use a wire wheel to remove any rust but doing this process will remove any rust without any scrubbing, grinding, or anything else. You let it sit in the tub of water with the electrolysis process in the works, and you wipe the rust away. ▶︎ Amazon US - https://amzn.to/2DUGfFs ▶︎ Amazon CA - https://amzn.to/2Go8QV2 ///// PRODUCTS FOUND IN VIDEO \\\\\ Battery Charger ▶︎ https://amzn.to/2Wgx8VQ Plastic Tub ▶︎ https://amzn.to/2YfJX4q Baking Soda ▶︎ https://amzn.to/2JG9cJW The longer you let your metal components sit in this electrolysis bath, the cleaner your parts will become. I go over the differences between them, along with showing you the difference in light output, along with colour temperature. These LED’s were installed in a set of projector lenses for my low beams, and in a reflector housing for my fog lights. They were a huge upgrade compared to the regular halogen bulbs. The light output is better, driving at night time will be safer, and they look a lot nicer than the traditional yellow bulbs. *NOTE* When installing the lights in your headlight housing, if the light coming out from the headlights does not have a nice cutoff, you should not drive with them on the roads as you will blind on-coming drivers as the headlights will scatter the light, as opposed to direct it onto the road. How to Repair DEEP Scratches

In the beginning of the video, you can see that the scratch is very deep and is noticeable from a distance. There is one main deep scratch, along with multiple smaller ones. Because the main deep scratch is through the clear coat and base coat, I won’t be able to remove the scratch without cutting too deep into the paint, so I can’t completely fix it. You can see how I make it look a lot better than before however. Now all of the smaller scratches that were around the large scratch, have been completely removed by following this procedure. How to Restore Faded Headlights for less than $20

How to Restore Faded Headlights for less than $20

In this video, I show you guys how to restore the HORRIBLY nasty and faded headlights on the golf. I bought this 3M restoration kit for less than 20 bucks and it does wonders. Ideally, if you have access to more sandpaper and better tools, by all means use them, however this inexpensive kit really made a world of a difference. 3M 39045 Headlight Restoration Kit ▶︎ http://amzn.to/2cV7Tar Depending on the stage of how bad your headlights are, you will begin with different grades of sandpaper. So if they are very bad like these ones, I started with 400 grit, and then proceeded to use finer and finer sandpaper. If they aren’t as bad, you will not have to start with something as aggressive as 400. You could being with perhaps 800 grit. Something to note is that the headlights get damaged and start to fade due to UV exposure. That means that the more they are exposed to the UV rays, without any protection the faster they will begin to yellow and fade. Something to note is that wax and even clear coat are UV resistant. So when your sealant or wax that is on your headlights wears, the headlights will be bare and begin to fade again. If you decide to spray your headlights in a UV resistant clear coat, they won’t yellow and fade. That is why if you want to take this DIY one step further, you can spray the headlights after you’ve polished them with the rubbing compound, with a plastidip clear coat, similar to the link below. 3 coats of the clear coat will do you wonders. The reason why people buy vehicles that come equipped with manual transmissions is so you get to control the machine and select when the transmission makes each shift. The connection between human and machine is by your feet and in your hands. That selecting of each gear feels good, but if the throw of each shift or the transmission doesn’t feel strong, that satisfaction can be compromised. That is why I think installing a Short Throw Shifter is a great way to improve that feeling. If you have any other suggestions for the best first mod for your car, let me know in the comments. HID Headlights: Are they Better than LEDs?

Obviously a headlight housing that has integrated LEDs or Factory HIDs cannot be changed to have halogens or HIDs easily, but we can install LEDs and HIDs into headlights that have come standard with halogens. With that being said, which of the two is the better route? I have purchased the best HID and LED kits on the market with my own money to put the question to the test.
