Tim Laughlin leads off with the fiddle tune "Red Apple Rag" at the Appalachian Trail Band performance on 27 March 2010 (bluegrass Saturday night) at Damascus General Store in Damascus, Virginia. Since 6 March 2010 "Mountain Music Showcase" has been recording the Saturday night bluegrass performances at Damascus General Store for later re-broadcast on ARC-TV cable/broadcast affiliates and the Tri-Cities CW affiliate (DT 5-2). These good folks have web presence at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mountai... Damascus General Store is located in Damascus, Virginia where the famous Appalachian Trail (the actual trail, not the band) goes down the principal street of the town. http://www.damascusgeneralstore.com/ Damascus is sometimes otherwise referred to as "Trail Town, USA" . http://www.damascus.org/index.html Appalachian Trail here is (from left): Matthew Cruby (banjo), Tim Laughlin (fiddle), Tommy Austin (mandolin, vocals), Vicki Austin (bass, vocals), and Alan Hughes (guitar, vocals). Although Appalachian Trail does perform many cover songs, Tommy and Vicki Austin are also songwriters who perform much original work in concert and on published recordings. They have a web site: http://www.appalachiantrailband.com/
From Sissel in Concert ~ All Good Things I especially appreciate the violin and the heavy "thumps" of the base drum at the back, and most of all the voice of Sissel, which make this my favourite rendition of Shenandoah
