Temp Gauges are very important in the world of RC (Remote Control). Just like humans, our temperature tells you if something is wrong. With an RC Car/Truck, a higher than normal temp can tell you that you might have a problem down the line and could jeopardize one or all of your electrical components. Here's various Temp Gauges and some links: Duratrax Flash Temp Gauge: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEMG5&P=ML This is the DuraTrax Flashpoint Infrared Temperature Gauge. ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY FEATURES Monitors temperatures of engines, sealing irons, electric motors and battery packs Wireless for safe and accurate readings without touching the heat source-simply point, push a button, and read the results Palm sized 1.13 ounce reads wide temperature range from -27° to +428°F (-33° to +220°C) Special mode settings allow user to find, hold, and display minimums and maximums of fluctuating temperatures to provide the most accurate information Auto-off timer preserves battery power by shutting down unit after 15 seconds if not used Large LCD for easy viewing Replaceable 3V CR2032 Lithium battery available at jewelry and camera counters of major retail stores INCLUDES One DuraTrax Flashpoint Infrared Temperature Gauge with Lithium battery and wrist strap TrakPoxer Temp Gauge/StopWatch: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXATCL&P=7 This is the Infrared Temperature Gauge with Stopwatch from TrakPower. The PE-2 has an adjustable emissivity setting for precise calibration, and perhaps best of all, a tight infrared "cone" distance to spot ratio (D:S) of 6:1. That means at a distance of 6 inches, you are reading an area just 1 inch in diameter. At a distance of 2 feet, an area of just 3 inches. Range: (-67°F to 662°F) switchable to Celsius (-55°C to 350°C) Thermocouple Range: N/A Resolution: 0.1° Response Time: 1 second Accuracy: ± 1.8° Field of View: (D:S Ratio) 6:1 Modes: Max/Min/Lock Emissivity: 0.05~1 adjustable Battery Life: 40 hours continuous use Battery: Two AAA batteries Display: LCD Dimensions: 25 x 44 x 114mm Weight: 90 grams Special Features: Sighting Laser
Q: Why haven't you made new videos since 2013? A: My local RC track facility was forced to move a long ways away. Meanwhile, nearly every open space in my heavily populated area is explicitly, legally off-limits to RCs and regularly patrolled by rangers and/or police and I've been kicked out too many times. I have absolutely NO good place to legally drive & film within a reasonable distance and there is nothing I can do to change this. Q: Have you created a new RC channel? A: No. Beware of shameless lying impostors :) If you don't see something posted by a verified account of mine on UltimateRC.com itself, assume it's false, including "screenshots" as they are easier than anything to fake. Q: Will you come back to RC? A: Most likely no. Q: Why did you disable comments on existing videos on this channel? A: You know, *most* RC hobbyists are cool folks. YouTube though, harbors an extraordinarily large population of the most vitriolic, extremist brand loyalists & haters who make it their life's purpose for weeks at a time to develop and then spread the most ridiculous fabricated stories to try to tear down a guy who happened upon a little success & popularity as a result of working hard & sharing something he loves to do. I don't have time for that mess; I choose focus on the good stuff in life!
For more information please visit the link below: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Articles/Article.aspx?ArticleID=2118 When you first get started with an RC car, truck, boat or aircraft you're more than likely going to start off with a ready-to-run of some sort. These types of vehicles make it much easier to get up and running, as the majority of the hard work has been done for you. The vehicle comes out of the box completely assembled, the running gear has been installed for you and often the most you'll need to do is mount a wing or install an antenna tube. What happens after you've been running for awhile and you need to replace a broken part? What happens if you want to change the shock oil? You're going to need the right tools and supplies in order to make repairs and perform maintenance properly. While just about all RTR's come with a set of basic allen wrenches, a 4- or 5-way wrench and some other rudimentary tools to perform the most basic of service on your vehicle. Often those tools are crafted out of a soft metal that can bend or brake or even strip out the heads of your screws. We've put our heads together to come up with a list of the top can't-live-without tools and supplies we keep in our pit boxes and use most. From hand tools to shock oil, motor spray to pit mats this is what you'll need to properly maintain your vehicle. In addition to what we highlight in the video we also have some extra items that you may want to have nearby. Questions? Comments? I’m guessing most rc enthusiast’s with more than a few vehicles in the rc garage are interested in specific rc tools to work on their stuff. Of course you can use regular tools from your tool box, but there’s something very nice about having a specific, dedicated set of tools that does what you need on the vehicles you own. Vasco from Aussie RC Playground found an issue with the ignition box pushing spark back to the receiver powering, it which is causing the receiver to unbind or blow up! That's annoying! So Vasco and Chris de Graaf and I talked about possible solutions with MaxAmps.com to fit two MaxAmps 7.4v 2S 2000mah in place of the ignition box. RCMilitia Jeremy Patterson was kind enough to send his Losi 8T over to MaxAmps for them to do some R&D. Having found a possible solution they sent the car to me to test the prototype and see if we can find a solution! Well we did and I think MaxAmps has the opportunity to build a battery cover that would fit the two Lipos there perfectly. We will see.....
