Although this video is short and I could not get his gagging much on camera I'm uploading this video to show that even children with severe food aversions can enjoy helping to prepare a meal they will not eat. Gage shown here at 4 years old only eats pancakes, mashed potatoes, ramen noodles, grilled cheese, bagels and the occasional peanut butter fluff sandwich. When we go to the grocery store the produce section makes him gag but not actually throw up. This meal consists of stringbeans, potatoes, chicken and garlic sauce. I am very proud of him for being able to stomach making this meal. I hope that by sharing this short video we can encourage other people to bake with their children who have autism or sensory issues. Maybe someday he will be able to try the food he makes.
