Some fun facts about anacondas are number one, they are in the boa constrictor families, as a matter of fact they are the largest of the boa constrictors, and this is a boa constrictor. They are from South America the Amazon, they are more of an aquatic snake. They get quite large, but they aren't the longest snake in the world. That goes to the reticulated python. But with the anaconda, a fun fact is is the longest one was about 28 feet, but his girth was 44 inches, whereas a reticulated python won't even get half of that. Now when you have a snake that large, when you feed snakes, you can feed bait up to the size of the largest part of the snake. Can you imagine what you have to feed an anaconda that's 44 inches in girth. So you never want to own an anaconda because they are carnivores, and they need prey that would fit their bellies, and at 44 inches that could even be us. And as a matter of fact, there are documented cases where, unfortunately, people have been lost to an anaconda. They normally eat things in the water, fish, toads, you know, small mammals around the rivers. And one thing where you'll read where they've seen anacondas that are a 100 feet, things like that, what happens is when anaconda sheds, remember that it's so big that what they do is they take that shedding and they spread that thing out, and they think that's how big the snake is. So you'll hear reports of anacondas being over 50, 60 feet long. That's not the case, the longest ever was about 28 feet. But they are a very dangerous snake, and a very hungry snake, so you do not want them as pets.
The green anaconda can grow up to 20 feet long and weigh a whopping 200 pounds. That's a big body to feed. And the world's largest rodent, the capybara, is the perfect entree. ➡ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/NatGeoWILDSubscribe ➡ Watch all clips of World’s Deadliest here: http://bit.ly/Worldsdeadliest ➡ Get More World’s Deadliest: http://bit.ly/WorldsDeadliest #NatGeoWILD #Anaconda #WorldsDeadliest About World's Deadliest: World’s Deadliest Predators is a new series that looks at most riveting moments of animal predation, breaking down the struggle for survival and supremacy into five action-packed episodes. We know the anacondas, boas, pythons, but have you heard about the Titanoboa? It is the queen of snakes and is also the largest ever known. Correction: The titanoboa weighed 1.13 tons. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION: Its scientific name is Titanoboa Cerrejonensis, because it was discovered in the Cerrejón coal mines, located in the State of La Guajira, in Colombia. In this place, the geologist Henry Garcia found a strange fossil in 1994. He labeled it a "petrified branch" and stored it in a counter in the mine's facilities. The discovery was not free of challenges. To know what the titanoboa was feeding on and what its true size was, the head was needed. Until then, mining activity had helped the discovery of new species. While more layers of land miners extracted, more species were found and they seemed to be increasingly older. The problem was that this time the miners had announced that they were going to start digging in lower strata and that all the land from the time of the titanoboa would be removed, losing any trace of it. The paleontologists had to hurry. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- About Us: Trend Max is an education and entertainment channel dedicated to creating interesting Tops and Lists. Subscribe for new videos: http://goo.gl/SaufF4 Voiceover by Rodney Tompkins: https://www.youtube.com/c/BigBadada2012 4: Attack on Brazilian TV host Popular Brazilian TV host, Toninho Negreiro was exploring the Amazon rainforest in Columbia in order to gather footage for his animal show. On his expedition, Negreiro was accompanied by an experienced guide, nicknamed El Diablo, whom the locals believed to have magical power over the snakes. As they were exploring the surroundings, El Diablo who was allegedly even able to smell the snakes in order to track down their whereabouts, lead Negreiro and his film crew to a green anaconda. The snake was reportedly well over 15 feet long. It started to coil around El Diablo. He handed the snake to Negreiro for a brief moment, before returning it back into the wild. The guide told the film crew that the anaconda was agitated and that it wanted to bite. While the crew was talking 3: Attacks Documented by Jesus A. Rivas Jesus A. Rivas is a known herpetologists, famous for his work anacondas. Having always been passionate about snakes and wildlife, he started ‘The Anaconda Project’ in 1992, along with some of his friends. Rivas based his operation in Ilanos, Venezuela as the snakes were easier to catch during the dry season. There are few people who can handle a green anaconda with their bare hands and Rivas is one of them. He explained “It takes an average of about 15-20 minutes of fighting with a snake before it tires to the point of exhaustion. Then it becomes easier to handle and more compliant.” He successfully planted radio transmitters on 38 of the 900 anacondas he had captured during the span of eleven 2: ‘Eaten Alive’ In a highly anticipated Discovery Channel special called ‘Eaten Alive’ 27-year-old naturalist Paul Rosolie attempted to be consumed by a 20 feet-long, 215 pounds green anaconda. He and a crew of 10 tracked the snake down along the Amazon River. In order to achieve this remarkable feat, Rosolie wore an armor-like suit. The suit included a sturdy helmet, plated padding and a biometric vest with a bluetooth health monitor, so that the crew could observe his vital signs. Rosolie then doused himself in pig’s blood so that he would be more appealing for the anaconda. He started crawling towards the snake on all fours. The anaconda opened its mouth and latched on to the top of Rosolie’s helmet. It then started to coil around him. As the snake began to tighten its grip, Rosolie said that he could feel his arm breaking. He shouted ‘Somebody come!’ in order to let his crew know that he was in danger. They managed to take the snake off him. Despite advertising that he would be eaten alive by a green anaconda, Rosolie was forced to stop the experiment with just the top if his head in the snake’s jaws. Rosolie and the Discovery Channel faced a wave of criticism after the airing of ‘Eaten Alive’. Some came from disappointed viewers who had been promised something different than what they had seen. Animal rights organizations were also outraged. PETA released a statement saying that “Paul Rosolie and his crew put this snake through undeniable stress and robbed her of essential bodily resources. She was forced to constrict and then not allowed to eat.” The naturalist assured the public that the snake was not harmed in any way during the experiment. Rosolie defended the experiment saying “If there's a chance this will protect [the Amazon], I'll do it. I don't care if you're upset I didn't get eaten by an anaconda. A, I tried, and B, there's a chance for me to do work with the Discovery Channel and bang my drum about the dangers, and I'll do that.” Surviving an encounter with a fully-grown adult anaconda is no easy feat. If you are venturing in the Amazon Jungle there are a few ways of making sure you do not become a meal for these massive predators. When you set-up camp, make sure to choose a 1: Green Anaconda attacks young Brazilian boy 8-year-old Mateus and one of his friends were playing next to a creek on a ranch near the city of Cosmorama, in Brazil. The two boys had no idea that, as they were enjoying their afternoon, a 16 foot green anaconda was lurking in the water. The serpent pounced on Mateus biting into his shoulders, chest and neck and quickly coiled itself around him. The young boy would have certainly died if his friend hadn’t overcome his initial reaction. Although he was initially paralyzed by fear, his friend

Our planet offers a great flora and fauna. Especially the amazon is the home for various different kind of animals. Here are some of the most bizarre discoveries in the amazon. Subscribe to World5List http://goo.gl/cpJSA6 Bizarre Amazon Discoveries If you’re venturing to a part of the world with the most unique species of animal on the planet, you’re probably in for some interesting finds. Coming up… Gigantic snakes, parasitic fish, running lizards, and more. Join us as we explore some of the most bizarre Amazon discoveries. Caiman To start things off, the apex predator of the Amazon river is a strange creature, but it’s by no means safe from other predators in this intense jungle. The black caiman is essentially a gigantic alligator. Green Anaconda With all of the biodiversity and incredibly variations of flora and fauna in the Amazon, it’s not surprising to find that the largest snake in the world calls this place home. Arapaima If you’re worried about swimming in piranha infested waters, you might reevaluate your list of fears with our next discovery. The Arapaima is a carnivorous fish that takes up just a bit more space than the piranhas. Giant Otter When you see a family of otters playing around in a river, or even the ocean, often you first thought might be “how cute.” This is at least partly because the otters are small. The amazon is home to the largest species of this marine mammal, the aptly-titled “giant otter.” Candiru Not everything that’s terrifying in the amazon is giant… though admittedly, most creatures are. The candiru are tiny parasitic fish that work to latch themselves onto larger fish’s gills to feast. Bull Sharks When you’re spending all of your time worrying about the dangers of the Amazon, you might not get to fully experience the beauty and importance of the river... Electric Eels Okay, so now you’re getting concerned about being bitten, strangled, or crushed. Another, much less conventional thing to worry about with regards to Amazonian animals. Glass Frog Camouflage is a useful survival tactic for creatures that get fed upon, but sometimes in the Amazon this technique leads to interesting consequences. The glass frog is technically green, but if you were to see a specimen, that’s probably not the first thing you’d think. Decoy Building spider When threatened, many creatures on the planet like to make themselves look big, so as to scare away would-be predators. Cats raise their backs, some lizards flatten themselves, eben humans are told to look big when faced with bears. Piranha No matter where you go in the world, it’s hard to beat the classic, bizarre discoveries. The red bellied piranha is the original fear in the semi-deep river, and despite the Hollywood hype, these little guys aren’t as as all that. Jesus Lizard Many creatures discovered in the Amazon walk, and many live in the water, but very few do both at once. The Jesus lizard is one of the stranger inhabitants of this wild wonderland and it’s a sight to behold. Pink Dolphin At this point you might be thinking that nothing else that lives in the Amazon could be much of a surprise, considering the rest of this list. Well, the most famous inhabitant of the Amazon River would be unique and bizarre if found in the ocean, where most of its relatives dwell. Found in this river, it’s an absolute marvel.
