The Making of - "Eye Of The Storm"

It was a collaboration between myself and the musician (known as Lovett). Lovett has a strong background as a film composer and when he finished his first 'rock' album, he enlisted the help of his filmmaker friends to create short films and music videos for all of the songs. "I jumped at the chance to do something with 'Eye of the Storm' since it had such a cinematic feel. I pitched him this idea along with some sketches and references I pulled from the web. He loved it and we hit the ground running. "Working with basically no budget, we had to rally a lot of like-minded artists around this cool idea and get them excited from strictly a creative standpoint. Once people started seeing where it was headed, it became easier and easier to get them to sign on. "We Shot on RED MX and had about 40 or 50 setups that we squeezed into one really long day." Soapbox Films VFX super Wes Ball: "Hardware was all Mac Pros. For the CG we used Modo for all final renders, which was really a first for us. We use Modo a lot but haven't really built a pipeline around it before. Animation was done in Maya and LightWave. We used MDDs baked out of those programs to bring the animation into Modo. After that we pretty much lived in After Effects for compositing. All the environments are built inside After Effects from 2D cloud images. All of the particle effects were done with Particular. "The biggest creative challenge was the stylized look of the whole thing. It really all stemmed from what was shot on set; this super stylized character that reads as a silhouette. We had to find a look that was really cool, but still fit the style Chris was going for. We ended up on this slightly photo-real, almost colorized black-and-white tone. In each of the six scenes, we created a unique color palette to help distinguish the different points in the story. Looking at all the thumbnails of the 60 shots together you can really see the color flow of the entire project. "The cloud environments were a big concern from the beginning. Coming up with a look that would place you in a location without a ground or any real features to orient you spatially was tricky. We knew from the beginning that the cloud environments needed to be designed as landscapes. "We tried to make features out of the clouds; the equivalent of things like mountain ranges, flat plains, vortexes. And since we didn't have the time or resources to build volumetric cloud environments, that meant it was going to be a patch-job - meaning we had to gather lots and lots of images of clouds we could extract and layer up inside of After Effects. The Reality of Heaven and Hell with Howard Storm - Swedenborg and Life

The Reality of Heaven and Hell with Howard Storm - Swedenborg and Life

Few NDE reports include accounts of both heaven and hell. Emanuel Swedenborg and Howard Storm reportedly experienced both and there’s much to learn! Click below on Show More for full episode description, free book downloads, and contact info. In this episode, host Curtis Childs talks with near-death experience survivor Howard Storm, author of both "My Descent Into Death" and "Lessons Learned." Watch as the two discuss how Howard’s 1985 near-death experience changed him so deeply that he went from being a devoted atheist to a devout Christian minister. Like Swedenborg, Howard saw both heaven and hell during his experience and shares his story in hopes that viewers will find answers to their own spiritual struggles on the path toward God. Curtis Childs is the digital media producer at the Swedenborg Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose goal is to spread eighteenth-century philosopher Emanuel Swedenborg’s timeless message of hope to all. While obtaining his degree in communication studies from Oakland University, Curtis experienced an internal battle with depression that led him to question God, existence, and his lifelong interest in Swedenborgian theology. After a period of intense suffering, he recovered from his depression with the help of modern medicine, therapy, and a return to the spiritually uplifting messages he found in Swedenborg’s writings. Now, Curtis is applying his education and desire to help others find peace through Swedenborg’s insights by producing and hosting a weekly webcast called Swedenborg and Life on the offTheLeftEye YouTube channel. Each week, Curtis and his behind-the-scenes team pour their talents and passions into creating weekly webcasts that focus on spiritual and societal topics such as the afterlife, angels and spirits, near-death experiences, faith, and more. --------------------------------------------------------------------
