Take regular exercise as part of your everyday lifestyle. Get good, regular sleep and rest. You will think and work better as a consequence. If you have difficulty getting to sleep, try listening to the sound of this video, it is also long enough to leave playing throughout the night, therefore if you wake there will still be the soothing sound of nature in the background. Adopt a healthy eating plan, eat regular meals (little and often), choose quality foods such as fruits, vegetables, (lean meats and dairy products if you are not a vegetarian or vegan), nuts and grains which provide the vitamins and minerals that you need. Do not make heavy demands on your digestive system. Avoid sugars, low grade starchy carbohydrates and limit your alcohol intake. During study sessions take regular breaks, get plenty of fresh air and do some walking or stretching before returning to your desk. Remember what you eat affects your thinking. Drink plenty of water during your study sessions. Before an exam, avoid drinking too much, as you may need a toilet break which can waste exam time. Over eating will also make you feel tired as a large portion of your blood will be working hard transporting nutrients from your digesting food, leaving less oxygenated blood available for your brain, heart and lungs. Avoid any stimulants such as caffeine. Stay natural.
