Verizon has anounced they will deactivate their servers shortly. There is no help at the help desk of Verizon or AOL; and it's not an APPLE product relative to their support . Therefore I made a tutorial of how I set mine up to get by for now. In case others are not as lucky at getting theirs going for now. Best wishes to all and good luck ! (screen image settings can be set up to 720p for the video click on the cog wheel and raise the setting for better resolutions ). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Note: Renaming mailboxes - if you wish to rename your mail boxes at any time if they are not the one you like to have once done or prior to - - for any or all mail boxes you wish to do so with. -- Go to Mail Application and click on "Help" enter "Rename Mail Box" -- If that's no help, and likely it will not be especially if greyed out. Therefore I added a few notes below to help you move thru it in another way so as to get it done. 1. Go Mail Application 2. left click or double left click - on the Mail Box you want to rename 3. while holding down with one finger the “ Control key - on bottom left corner of keyboard & at same time - press and click or double click on left side of the mouse on the mail box you wish to rename all at the same instance of time". 4. while still holding and not letting go of left finger on “ control key” slide mouse along it’s left click able mouse menu - go to second one up from bottom “ Edit mail box “ 5. then only change the [ "Description Text Block" ] — that is the name you see on the left viewer side panel bar when in Mail Application. you can roll to each mail boxes information by clicking once on each mail box name on the left of that shown in the inner menu and watching it’s description text name appear - after clicking positioning on each - ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Caution ~~~~~~~~ Caution ~~~~ Note: You may want to be careful - do not click on the (+) plus or on the (-) minus - emblem - they are used to delete and remove mail boxes" — but by using the ( chart / list ) displayed in it - you can now click on one to highlight and see whats their and alter its name in inspector like window - that opens for it: ----------------- [ [ [ It is the chart list above the (+) plus and ( - ) Minus keys in that chart - click on each one to see it — rename by changing text description block to what you want, but do not click on the ( + or - ) keys keep away from them ] ] ]

Verizon uses a service called pop nowadays rather than imap so let's go ahead and get started. We are going to start by opening up Microsoft Outlook 2016. I've got it right here in my start menu so we're going to open it. This will be the first time so it's going to welcome us and ask a few questions. It asks, do you want to set up outlook to connect to an email account, well yes we do. Here it's going to ask for our basic information. We are going to type our information and type in our password. So we have gone ahead and put in our name, email address and password. Next we're going to go ahead and manually set it up. Hit next. We are going to choose the pop option because as I said Verizon is pop. Here is where you can set this, make sure that you set it correctly because you can't change it after you set it up without removing everything. We will see our email and our name populated through here. Next we are going to type in the incoming server which is pop.verizon.net and the smtp is smtp.verizon.com. Down here it's gonna ask for username and we are going to just copy this and type our password. If you are the only person using the computer you can hit remember password this means that every time you open outlook it will automatically check your email therefore reducing the privacy on the email. If you have a password on your computer when you first turn it on this may be fine, otherwise you want to make sure it asks you every time just uncheck it then every time you open outlook it will ask for a password. Once we've got that done what we need to do now is go to more settings. Check outgoing server requires authentication and then also going to hit advance and hit the SSL check and SSL box. We also have to change this to port 465 so that it can have the email go through. Down here you also see leave a copy of messages on the server you also see that it will remove them after 14 days we're going to change that from remove after 14 days to remove from deleted items. Next we are going to test it when it is done, go ahead and hit next and next again it's going to test it one more time. I like to do the test beforehand just so that that way we could see it works and says you're all set come right in here in the outlook and hit close on that and since the first time you are using outlook at want you to agree to everything. Now you will see the test email came through as well as my old email when I set up my broadband.
Verizon's purchase of Yahoo, as well as Flikr and Tumblr, has led to the AT&T linked accounts no longer working with the services. For some reason, this can't be solved by having the account with the AT&T email without it actually being linked together. Everyone using one of those emails has to change their accounts to list another. Tumblr has also been oddly silent on the recent net neutrality issue despite previously being vocal about it. This has led people to think the new parent company has silenced the issue. *credits* Intro/Outro sound clips from Essence 2 by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Artist: http://audionautix.com/ Background Animation: https://www.videvo.net/video/red-lights-background/504/ Official Tumblr Notice https://tumblr.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115007729788-Heads-up-for-AT-T-customers ATT's Notice https://www.att.com/esupport/article.html?partner=LinkShare&siteId=TnL5HPStwNw-iwihHWaWzJ2G0XSejn1s3A#!/email-support/KM1178828 Net Neutrality Concerns https://www.techdirt.com/blog/netneutrality/articles/20170621/09400737642/tumblr-goes-radio-silent-net-neutrality-after-verizon-acquisition.shtml https://boingboing.net/2017/06/27/end-times.html https://www.theverge.com/2017/6/21/15816974/verizon-tumblr-net-neutrality-internet-politics-david-karp http://tfios-changed-my-life.tumblr.com/post/162342027497/tzikeh-obstinate-nocturna-cameoappearancedddd Original Script: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1S5HBHwowHYGdNSQL6gAwcMH8v8Eqc5u1ysscmZ8ZUGk/edit?usp=sharing
