Tim Laughlin leads off with the fiddle tune "Red Apple Rag" at the Appalachian Trail Band performance on 27 March 2010 (bluegrass Saturday night) at Damascus General Store in Damascus, Virginia. Since 6 March 2010 "Mountain Music Showcase" has been recording the Saturday night bluegrass performances at Damascus General Store for later re-broadcast on ARC-TV cable/broadcast affiliates and the Tri-Cities CW affiliate (DT 5-2). Although Appalachian Trail does perform many cover songs, Tommy and Vicki Austin are also songwriters who perform much original work in concert and on published recordings. The U.S. military's premier country-bluegrass group, Country Current, plays "Shenandoah Valley Breakdown" at a joint concert with the 1st Marine Division Band in Escondido, Calif. on April 24, 2012. Country Current is one of six ensembles in the United States Navy Band, the Navy's premier musical organization.

The Stringdusters are Chris Pandolfi on banjo, Travis Book on bass, Jesse "I'm living my wildest dream" Cobb on mandolin, Chris Eldridge on guitar, Jeremy Garrett on fiddle, and Andy Hall on dobro.
