During his talk, DJ handles a Q&A and performs a 10-solo medley which you MUST see & hear to believe. Some incredible playing here. Enjoy, The Musician Network (TMNtv)

Rig Rundown - Alter Bridge's Mark Tremonti & Myles Kennedy

Rig Rundown - Alter Bridge's Mark Tremonti & Myles Kennedy

Article and photos: http://www.premierguitar.com/articles/24919-rig-rundown-alter-bridges-mark-tremonti-and-myles-kennedy Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy have played together for over 12 years, recorded five albums, and toured hard both domestically and internationally. Before their recent Nashville show, Tremonti and Kennedy hung with PG’s John Bohlinger to talk tone. Tremonti was the second artist to have a PRS signature model (Carlos Santana was there first). Nicknamed “Dimebag” after Tremonti’s late friend Darrell Abbott, this is his No. 1. “Dimebag” stays in dropped-C# tuning and is strung with D’Addario strings, gauged .010-.049. Tuned down a half-step and strung with D’Addario EXL140s (.010-.052), Myles Kennedy’s No. 1 is this PRS SC 245. Scott Ian: 'The Magic of Malcolm Young'

Scott Ian: 'The Magic of Malcolm Young'

The number of artists who consider Malcolm Young an inspiration runs pretty deep, but we’re guessing not too many have gone so far to actually have his face inked into their own skin. Anthrax axeman Scott Ian, though, has immortalized the late-great rhythm guitarist on his left bicep, along with his brother Angus Young on his right. “Specifically, these guys, as a guitar player, mean everything to me,” explains Ian in this video interview. “That’s why I really wanted them on me because it makes me happy to be able to look at them every day. “Malcolm has always been my hero since day one because he basically taught me how to play guitar. As a kid with AC/DC albums, vinyl albums, in my little bed room on a turn table, I just used to sit and figure out how to play their songs. And it was all Malcolm. You know? It was all him. So, I was learning to play specifically by listening to what he was doing. He was my guitar teacher. He was the reason I learned how to play rhythm guitar the way I do.” Watch as Ian explains the magic of Malcolm Young. https://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/build/solid-body/g6131-my-malcolm-young-signature-jet/2411916821
