Pink Floyd - Hey You (With Lyrics)

Hey You by Pink Floyd, the fourteenth track of The Wall. The Wall is a rock opera, telling the story of Pink, a man who builds a metaphorical wall around him, isolating him from the rest of the world. Already Pink is regretting his Wall, trying to call out to people on the other side. "Hey You" is a song by Pink Floyd. It appears on The Wall album (1979).It starts the second disc of the double album. The Wall, tells the story of Pink, an alienated young rock star who is retreating from society and isolating himself. In "Hey You", Pink realises the mistake he made in shunning society, and attempts to regain contact with the outside world. However, he cannot see or hear beyond the wall. Pink's call becomes more and more desperate as he begins to realise there is no escape. "Hey You" was shot for the film Pink Floyd—The Wall, but the sequence (also known as Reel 13) was ultimately not included. A workprint appears on the special edition DVD, in black and white. Most of the footage was used in other sequences (most notably "Another Brick in the Wall (Part III)"). Roger Waters — vocals (bridge and last verse), Nick Mason — drums David Gilmour — fretless bass,6 and 12-string acoustic guitars, electric guitar, pedal steel, vocals (first and second verse), Richard Wright — Fender Rhodes electric piano, Hammond organ, synthesizer James Guthrie — drill http://www.pinkfloyd.com Pink Floyd were an English rock band that achieved international acclaim with their progressive and psychedelic music. Distinguished by their use of philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, and elaborate live shows, they are one of the most commercially successful and musically influential groups in the history of popular music. Founded in 1965, Pink Floyd originally consisted of students Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Roger Waters, and Richard Wright. They first gained popularity performing in London's underground music scene during the late 1960s, and under Barrett's creative leadership they released two charting singles and a successful debut album. David Gilmour joined as a fifth member in December 1967; Barrett left the band in April 1968 due to his deteriorating mental health. After Barrett's departure, Waters became the band's primary lyricist, and by the mid-1970s, their dominant songwriter, devising the original concepts behind their critically and commercially acclaimed albums The Wall (1979) and The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977), The Final Cut (1983). Wright left Pink Floyd in 1979, followed by Waters in 1985. Gilmour and Mason continued as Pink Floyd and Wright subsequently joined them as a paid musician. They continued to record and tour through 1994; two more albums followed, A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987) and The Division Bell (1994). Inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996, and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005, as of 2013 they have sold more than 250 million records worldwide, including 74.5 million certified units in the United States. After nearly two decades of acrimony, Pink Floyd reunited in 2005 for a performance at the global awareness event Live 8. In 2006, Gilmour was interviewed for an article printed in the Italian newspaper La Repubblica that declared that Pink Floyd had dissolved. When asked about their future, Gilmour explained that the band was finished making music, and that at the age of 60 he preferred to work on his own. Since then, both he and Waters have repeatedly insisted that they have no plans to reunite with the surviving former members. Barrett died in 2006 and Wright in 2008. In 2011, Gilmour and Mason joined Waters at one of his The Wall Tour shows at The O2 Arena in London. Lyrics: Hey you! Out there in the cold Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me? Hey you! Standing in the aisles With itchy feet and fading smiles, can you feel me? Hey you! Don't help them to bury the light Don't give in without a fight ! Hey you! Out there on your own Sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me? Hey you..With your ear against the wall Waiting for someone to call out would you touch me? Hey you..would you help me to carry the stone Open your heart, I'm coming home But it was only a fantasy The wall was too high as you can see No matter how he tried he could not break free And the worms ate into his brain Hey you! Out there on the road Always doing what you're told, can you help me? Hey you! Out there beyond the wall Breaking bottles in the hall, can you help me? Hey you..don't tell me there's no hope at all Together we stand..divided we fall.. Pink Floyd Live at Eart's Court - August 9, 1980 (Divided We Fall - Remastered) Birdy (Asas da Liberdade) 1984 - dirigido por Alan Parker.

Pink Floyd - Hey You (lyrics)

Lyrics to Hey You by Pink Floyd from The Wall (1979). The song is about the protagonist ("Pink") realizing the consequences of alienating himself from others. Pink cries for help as he cannot hear or see beyond the wall he has built around himself so that no one can hurt him. Eventually, he is aware that he has gone too far, and the "worms" have already eaten away at his brain; he finally succumbs to his insanity. Although the song is open to interpretation, this is the general analysis of the song. Art by Gerald Scarfe Writer(s): Roger Waters I do not own the song or image. All credit goes to the artists.
