Incredibly slow internet speeds from mediacom in Jacksonville, IL Paying for the 20 mbos down 2 mbps up package. This was taken around 11:30 at night, so it was still "peak time" but you think I could at least get half of what I am paying for

So next week ATT is coming to install my new gigafiber internet connection. This just got finished rolling out and I think I might be the first person in my neighborhood to be getting this. I am pretty excited about the idea of having such a fat pipe into my home. Before that gets installed I wanted to show the speeds I am getting of my wow cable connection, I am paying $60 for a 30mb pipe. The 1gbps will be $90/mo. Yes that IS a lot for internet but, I do upload lots of video content as part of my work (not so much on my personal youtube channel but other places). My office is kind of in the sticks so it's not uncommon for me to bring large files home on a drive and upload them from here. In fact, that is what I almost always do. I will post another video once the new connection is active.

This is one of the first speed tests I performed after finding the site http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ I found out how slow Mediacom internet truly was. I am paying for the 20 mbps download 2 mbps upload package. There is a severe utilization problem in my city (Jacksonville, IL) that Mediacom refuses to take care of. This wouldn't bother me so much, but they continue to offer 20mbps internet to new customers and charge me full price when they KNOW they can't provide the service. I've had numerous technicians out to "fix" the problem, but nothing improves Feel free to post your own results with locations a description of your Mediacom service
