I decided to design and fabricate a hydraulic thumb for the Kubota BX25-D. In this video I'll show you how I'm doing it. This video is Part #1
Cutting some small trees into firewood using a Kubota BX24D backhoe with Bro-Tek thumb attachment and an ancient (circa 1970) Stihl 050 chainsaw (a cutting machine).
Completed BH77 thumb with hydraulics. thanks to the guys on TractorByNet.com and Paul Short for the idea and design credits.
Made a thumb for opposing the hoe bucket on my bx24. Vid shows all but the cut on my hand from the trailer hitch mod.

This video is about pros and cons of a backhoe implement. In my case I have a backhoe model kubota bh92 on a L4740 Kubota tractor. The tractor is 47 H.P. Since I made this movie I found another con. It is recommended that you take the lift arms off. This adds to my already limited time. If you loose a bolt it may cost you a day at least where I live.
Grading and leveling using the loader bucket and using the backhoe thumb to clear dead falls and junk with the Kubota BX25D. I am putting in all weather trails to aid in collecting Maple Sap this winter. I have to do the collecting after dark and stumbling through the mud and bush is not a lot of fun. The new trail will really be nice! This is a spur trail I started in another video. I am getting the trail base finished so I can put gravel on it.
