The K-7 was a heavy experimental aircraft designed and tested in the Soviet Union in the early 1930s. K-7 was of unusual configuration with twin booms and large underwing pods housing fixed landing gear and machine gun turrets. In the passenger version, seats were arranged inside the 7 ft 7 in thick wings. The airframe was welded from KhMA chrome-molybdenum steel. The original design called for six engines in the wing leading edge but when the projected loaded weight was exceeded, two more engines were added to the trailing edges of each wing, one right and one left of the central passenger pod. K-7 first flew on 11 August 1933. Then on 21 November 1933 the aircraft crashed due to structural failure of one of the tail booms, killing 14 people aboard and one on the ground. Although two more prototypes were ordered in 1933, the project was canceled in 1935 before they could be completed.
Today, we fly the freeware Kalinin K-7. We take a short flight around Duluth, MN for a water landing and then attempted runway landing! v11.10 HD Mesh v4 SkyMaxx Pro v4.6 Kalinin K-7 (Freeware) Twitter: https://twitter.com/15nm_Arc

First flown in 1933, the Kalinin K-7 is an absolutely huge monster of a transport / heavy bomber. In modern times, it was the subject of a a popular joke render sporting various armaments from large naval warships. The fun thing in games like From the Depths? You could have the huge plane, and mount huge guns to go with it, and still make it fly. Somehow. It's like taking your cake and eating it, while defying the laws of physics. In Soviet Russia, plane fly YOU! The heavy Kalinin K-7 launcher differs in size from its 132.5 m wingspan compared with 747-65.5 m. The K-7 has thick, thick wings and triangular tails. The aircraft was built as a multi-mission aircraft for both military and civilian purposes and accommodates 128 passengers. The luxury model includes 64 passenger seats and a kitchen. The "Flying Castle" was named after the military version, which appeared 10 years after the famous Boeing B-17. The aircraft was provided with 12 shooting positions and a special electronic vehicle, which delivered the shooters to the bombers in the tail of the aircraft. The K-7 is capable of carrying more than 16 tons of bombs or a landing squad of up to 112 parachutes. The model was destroyed in a plane crash in 1933, and the design office refused to build a new model.
