Is it East versus West Or man against man Can any nation stand alone In the burning Heart Just about to burst There's a quest for answers An unquenchable thirst In the darkest night Rising like a spire In the burning heart The unmistakable fire #Survivor #BurningHeart #Vevo #RockAndRoll #VevoOfficial
Originally released in 1999, "Empires" was the second solo album by Survivor frontman Jimi Jamison (Target, Cobra). The music you hear on "Empires" is of course quite similar to Survivor's particular brand of AOR. In fact, the album was originally released under the name "Jimi Jamison's Survivor." The 2003 reissue of "Empires" (released minus the Survivor name) features a pair of bonus tracks. The first is a Christmas-themed ballad called "Keep It Evergreen". The second is a live version of Survivor's "Too Hot to Sleep". Solo work: In 1989, Jamison was asked to be the lead vocal replacement for Deep Purple, who had just fired Ian Gillan. Said Purple organist Jon Lord of Jamison in a 1993 interview, "He was an enormous Deep Purple fan and he would happily have taken over the job. But at the time he was afraid of his managers. They didn't want him to leave [Survivor] and he didn't dare to get into a fight with them." In fact, Lord's record label had just released Jamison's new album, "When Love Comes Down", in 1991, and they wanted him to stay and promote the record instead of joining Deep Purple. Jamison went on to co-write and sing "I'm Always Here," the opening theme from the hit TV show Baywatch. TRIBUTE VIDEO -- RIP Jimi Jamison Survivor Lead Singer Memphis Honor Dead Dies Died Death Body at 63 Memory Memories Eye of the Tiger High on You I Can't Hold Back The Karate Kid I'm Always Here The Search Is Over The Moment of Truth COBRA, AND SONGS FROM ROCKY IV, THE KARATE KID, AND BAYWATCH Soaring Voice 8/23/51-9/1/14 Jimi Jamison, 63, whose soaring tenor powered many hits for the arena rock band Survivor, died Sunday night, the band confirmed Monday. In a statement on its Facebook page, the band said: "The entire Survivor family is very shocked and saddened by the passing of our brother Jimi Jamison. Our thoughts, love and prayers go out to his family and friends." No cause of death was given, but TMZ quoted Jamison's booking agent as saying he died of a heart attack at his home in Memphis, Tennessee. Jamison joined, left and rejoined Survivor many times after officially debuting with the band in 1984 for the single "The Moment of Truth," the theme song from the movie "The Karate Kid." His first album with Survivor was the platinum-selling album "Vital Signs," which spun off several hits, including "I Can't Hold Back," "High on You" and "The Search Is Over," which reached No. 4 on the Billboard charts. He also co-wrote and sang "I'm Always Here," the theme song from the TV series "Baywatch." Survivor's biggest hit, "Eye of the Tiger" — which shot to popularity as part of the soundtrack for "Rocky III" — came in 1982, two years before Jamison joined the band. But he did do the vocals for another "Rocky"-related hit: "Burning Heart" from "Rocky IV" in 1985.

Metalmastermusic1's video, but with different less-distorted audio. Didn't take much video during this set, but I left my digital audio recorder run.
