My cousin, Pete, brings his own Areca palm to the set of "The Indoor Garden" and gets some advice on its care. This graceful palm has been used a houseplant for decades and will live well indoors, if its special care instructions are followed! When this show was made, its botanical name was Chrysalidocarpus lutescens. Sometimes plants are reclassified and today it is also called Dypsis lutescens. For printed care instructions plus more information on the Areca Palm, click on the link below to go to "The Indoor Garden" blog post about it: http://enjoyindoorgardening.blogspot.com/2014/11/the-areca-palm.html For more indoor plant info on many other houseplants check out "The Indoor Garden" blog: http://www.enjoyindoorgardening.blogpost.com Please feel free to ask questions about your plant in 'comments'. This show was videotaped in the early 90's at a florist called 'Seasons' in downtown Washington,DC. The shop is no longer there. The soundtracks for "The Indoor Garden" were composed by Srini P.
