The outrageous final show of the record breaking worldtour "Global Spirit-Tour" of Depeche Mode in 2017/2018. More than 2.3 million tickets were sold during the tour, 22,000 fans celebrated the final show @ the Waldbuehne in Berlin on July 25. Take off: 20:45 CET. This film was created by the help of dozens of enthusiastic smartphone operators, an audio recording unit, a sound engineer and lots of love that I received from the "depeche mode fanaktion 25.7.18 waldbühne"-members during the editing of this film!!! I will never forget the first screening of this film, only 14 days after the show, on August 8, 2018, at 20:45 CET, exactly 14 days after the kick-off of the final show, also on a Wednesday evening, when viewing was limited to the quickest users after the countdown on my website has reached 00:00:00. Originally I wanted to finish this first (actually I did not really know that anything would follow, at this first night I realised: "... I think this WASN´T it, there´s some more to come ...") streaming event at midnight, but so many fascinated fans were chatting with me about their feelings and the project that I went to bed at 5 o´clock in the morning. At that time I set the viewing permission on private, because the film wasn´t finished, yet. I made this film especially for the members of the Facebook-fansite, they were invited for the two first screenings on August 8th and 22nd, as well as to the 3rd and final show on the 3rd of October. Only 14 days after the first streaming event, on August 22, a new edit of the show was ready to be presented, this time on YouTube, without any limits in the number of viewers. As before, the film was only available for a limited time (this time: 12 hours), which I´ve chosen. Within this 12 hours the film was watched more than 12,300 minutes, only by the group of max. 1,400 people of the fanaktion-Facebooksite (actually 640 people of those 1,400 were tuning in that night). As soon as it´s finished, the film will be open for everyone! ______________________________________________________ Today, September, 24, only 9 days to the final show of the final show. I am looking forward to this final event of this awesome project!!! I would never have thought that editing could bring such a feeling of happiness!!! I forgot time and space working on that film, one day I started editing at 8 AM, and went to bed the next day at 6 AM. Before I went to Berlin in July I printed the PDF "CU NEXT TIME" on a poster-sized-paper, but I wanted it to be special. So I added a heart in the middle of that picture, not knowing at that time that the heart would pull through the complete project, my communication, and even the audience. Sometimes you can see heart-shaped balloons on shots of the audience. Once, when I was working on the film, a girl said to me: "You have the heart at the right place!", so, I named the film on YouTube "The film with the heart at the right place (in German: Der Film mit dem Herzen am rechten Fleck"), and added a heart at the lower right corner of the film, at the RIGHT place ;-) At the introducing part of the film there is a song playing that Depeche Mode used introducing their shows. While it is playing you can see the waveform of the song in a green line that reacts to the sound. Right next to it, at the right place, there is a heart beating, so the waveform of the song can also be considered as the ECG of the beating heart, wich stops beating as soon as the concert takes it´s launch. When you watch the very first seconds of the film you can see the "Keep the SPIRIT alive!"-Logo which softens into a red cloud that stands symbolic for the SPIRIT that I keep alive during the whole show. When you watch this film intently you can see me for about a second standing on my place in the crowd. On my screening show there still were "MISSING CONTENT" signs within the film, parts which I have had no video footage for. Luckily I received all of the missing content from fans who checked their phones and sent their material to me, SOOOOO UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! This concert was an unforgettable event right from the start, filled with so many emotions, even before it began!!! This concert with all that followed up has changed my life! Thanks to everyone that went with me through this time (10 weeks, total working time: something between 450 and 500 working hours, only on my side, there was additional work on the audio and support from a lot of fans). I am kind of glad that this project is coming to it´s end, but I am also afraid of falling into a deep hole. The work on this project became a wonderful part of my life!!! I was thinking about it 24/7, every second of my life, I LIVED it!!! I had the idea of producing this film 2 days after the concert when I was in Hamburg and driving with a friend to a lake. I told him about my idea, and said: "One day I will remember this very moment when I told you about my idea!" Love you all!!!
