Smoky Turkey Chipotle Stack ~ Sandwiches You Will Love ~ Lunch Time Made Easy ~ Noreen's Kitchen

Today we have a quick and easy sandwich, inspired by a local eatery. They call theirs "Sweet Chipotle Chicken" and it has grilled chicken, sharp cheddar and a "unique" chipotle and peach sauce. It was delicious but it was expensive. So we came up with our own! This tasty, budget friendly sandwich starts with a delicious ciabatta bun that is slathered with a delicious sauce and layered with smoked turkey and smoked Gouda cheese. Nothing more nothing less. It is a delicious twist on your every day turkey sandwich that is perfect for lunch or dinner! I love when I can recreate or rework something we ate out in our own kitchen. This sandwich is no exception. The sandwich is one of the most innovative ways to eat just about anything. I mean something that was said to be created for a man playing poker, and was too busy to stop to eat a full meal has got to be good right? I believe that the real key to this sandwich is the sauce. It's always the sauce isn't it? This one is super easy and you probably have all the ingredients on hand. I start with good quality mayonnaise and add in apricot jam. Use peach if that is what you have then I add in a good tablespoon of chopped chipotle in adobo. Mix this all up and boom you have a sandwich sauce that will make the angels sing! Spread a ciabatta bun (or a brioche bun) with that sauce and layer on smoked turkey breast and smoked Goulda cheese. You could use any cheese you like, muenster, smoked cheddar, smoked provolone or plain old American. I promise the smoked Goulda is amazing if you are able to get it! That is it. This sandwich is satisfying and the flavor combination cannot be beat. Sweet, salty, smoky, and spicy all in one bite, with a great chew from the ciabatta bun. All you need is a salad or some chips and you are good to go. A side note, the sauce is also a great dip for those bbq chips. Ask me how I know? The title of this video "Sandwiches You will Love" is an homage to one of my favorite documentary film makers, Rick Sebak. You may know him from his PBS documentaries on regional food. Shows such as An Hot Dog Program, An Ice Cream Show, Sandwiches You Will Like, To Market to Market to Buy a Fat Pig, and most recently his documentaries "A Few Good Pie Places and A Few Good Bakeries", made their debut. He is an incredible film maker with the ability to get right into the people, the region and the food. His perspective is always sweet and nostalgic and highlights the importance of food to our culture. If you get the opportunity please look up his work. VISIT OUR WEBSITE: http://www.LEAF.tv Ingredients: - 2 tbsp mayonnaise - 1-2 tsp chalula (more or less depending on taste) - 1/2 avocado, sliced - 5-7 pieces aged gruyere, sliced - 3-5 slices of bacon, fried (see: how to fry bacon) - 2 eggs, fried (see: how to fry an egg) - 2 slices of ciabatta (or bread of your choice) - Arugula Instructions: 1. Mix mayonnaise, chalula, S + P in a bowl, set aside 2. Fry bacon, starting on a cold skillet - fry on medium high heat for 4-5 minutes, flip and cook on other side for another 1 min (Drain on a paper towel) 3. Fry 2 eggs, sunny side up - medium heat for approximately 5 minutes 4. Slice ciabatta bread in half and brush with olive oil 5. Heat over medium high heat until golden brown 6.
