The best of David Pastrnak When Pastrnak walked on stage at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia as the No. 25 player chosen in the 2014 NHL Draft by the Boston Bruins, he kissed his hand and pointed to the heavens. The tribute, personal and heartfelt, was for his father, an advisor, cheerleader, inspiration and hockey/life coach, who passed away of cancer only 13 months earlier. Milan Pastrnak had always dreamt of his son playing professional hockey in the NHL, and now here was David slipping the famed Bruins jersey over his head. Heading into the draft, Central Scouting had Pastrnak ranked fifth among European skaters, and at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, it was felt that in time Pastrnak would fill out and his puck and passing skills would approach NHL levels. After signing an entry-level contract and attending the Bruins' 2014 training camp, the Czech Republic-born Pastrnak was sent to Providence of the American Hockey League. But he didn't stay long. A run of 11 goals and 28 points in 25 games triggered a November call-up. On Jan. 10, 2015, at the Wells Fargo Center, the very arena where he was drafted and saluted his late father, Pastrnak scored his first two NHL goals in a 3-1 victory against of the Philadelphia Flyers. He finished the 2014-2015 season with a 10 goals and 27 points in 46 games. Expectations were high for the 19-year-old's first full year in a Boston jersey, and he opened the schedule occupying prime territory, patrolling the right flank on a line alongside countryman David Krejci and newly-added left winger Matt Beleskey, along with the added responsibility of second-unit power play minutes. As Christmas time approached, the Bruins released Pastrnak to participate in a third World Junior Hockey Championship. The Czech Republic finished fifth, with Pastrnak scoring one goal and four points to increase his three-tournament total to three goals and 14 points. In 51 games for Boston, he scored 15 goals and 26 points. year after he put up 70 points 34 goals and 36 assists showing everyone why david pastrnak is elite player in the nhl awarding him a new contract fresh of 70 points david pastrnak wanted to take it to the next level showing everyone hes not a one good season player upping his totals this season to 80 points 10 more then last year 35 goals 45 assists!! coming into the 2018 playoffs vs the leafs david pastrnak really came to life having a 6 point game and being completely dominant in the first to games of the series helping the boston bruins become believers in the stanley cup playoffs eliminating the toronto maple leafs in 7 games and on to face tampa bay in the second round! A second look at Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak's foot revealed a non-displaced fracture in his foot, sidelining him for an indefinite amount of time. NESN.com's Ryan Provencher discusses the Bruins' approach to the injury.
The first round of the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs have concluded. Highlights of round 1 include the Nashville Predators shocking the hockey world with a sweep of the top seeded Chicago Blackhawks, the Edmonton Oilers winning their first playoff series since 2006, and the Washington Capitals defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs in a series that went to overtime in 5 out of 6 games. The first round set a record for most OT games in history. Hopefully round 2 will be half as exciting. All videos come from NHL.com. January 20, 2018 - This might be the closest this team gets to a playoff-like atmosphere this year, folks! Tonight is the third and final meeting between the Habs and Bruins in the past week. Thus far, the Bruins have won each game, though Montreal put up a good fight last Saturday. Maybe tonight, on Hockey Day in Canada, no less, they can finish the job? Or will they be...Bruinated?
