CKN on Facebook! - https://www.facebook.com/CoverkillerNation CKN on Twitter: @thecoverkiller CKN the Blog: http://24hoursofckn.blogspot.com/ Atreyu return(!!!?) after a 6 year long hiatus to find new and exciting things in this world. A new label, new attitude, flying cars...that kinda stuff. Anyhow, their new found re-commitment to music (never knew they dis-committed) has led to....a lot more of the same. Though the 6 year passage of time has made this disc an exercise in recommitting their SOUND to memory (thanks) the music itself hasn't evolved too far. Its still standard metalcore with twinges of what the kids call "punk" these days, and the afterbirth of someone listening to their first In Flames record. And no, it wasn't The Jester Race. Comparisons aside, this album isn't too bad, its just a bit generic. It also feels a bit out of order, almost like someone at the studio sent the track listing in wrong and it slipped through as-is. Long Live is a disjointed affair that is redeemed only by some new ideas and decent riffing. This album won't make Atreyu kings again by any stretch, but it'll certainly take plenty of people back and give them a nostalgic reason (besides seeing their ex-boyfriend in the parking lot of Krogers) to dig out their copy of The Curse.
