RoboCop 2 movie clips: http://j.mp/1AUQliM BUY THE MOVIE: http://j.mp/16I1OxT Don't miss the HOTTEST NEW TRAILERS: http://bit.ly/1u2y6pr CLIP DESCRIPTION: RoboCop (Peter Weller) defeats a band of thieves, then questions the survivor about the hyper-addictive drug, Nuke. FILM DESCRIPTION: The serialized story structure and barbed social commentary from comic book creator and co-writer Frank Miller earned critical respect in this satirical science fiction sequel directed by Irvin Kershner. Peter Weller returns as RoboCop, a futuristic cyborg fashioned from cutting-edge technology and the biological remains of slain Detroit police officer, Alex Murphy. Still patrolling the city streets, RoboCop is scheduled by his creator, Omni Consumer Products, to be replaced by a new "superior" model, RoboCop 2, that according to designer Juliette Faxx (Belinda Bauer), will contain the human remains not of a cop but a criminal. In the meantime, an instantly addictive drug called Nuke is sweeping through Detroit thanks to a kingpin named Cain (Tom Noonan). Taking Cain to task, RoboCop is captured and dismantled. When he's put back together, the cyborg is reprogrammed with a series of socially conscious commands (in a sly mocking of the then relatively new concept of "political correctness") that render him impotent as a law enforcer. Taking charge by rewiring himself with an electrical overload, RoboCop arrests Cain, who is injured in the process. Faxx secretly takes Cain's brain and inserts it into RoboCop 2, turning the robot immediately into a law-breaking murder machine and leading to a violent showdown between two generations of robotic crime-fighters. Another five people died on Friday - three were electrocuted in separate incidents in Pangasinan province north of Manila and two other people drowned, according to officials. Weather forecasters said Typhoon Halong, about 1,190 kilometres (739 miles) east of northern Cagayan province, was drawing in more clouds over the South China Sea and pouring rain over most of the main Philippines island of Luzon and the central Visayas region. The typhoon, with winds gusting up to 195 kph (122 mph), was moving at 22 kph (14 mph) northwest toward southern Japan. The civil defence office said about 1.4 million (m) people in 16 provinces and 26 cities, including metropolitan Manila, have been affected by the flooding, but only about 10,000 of more than 24,000 people who have been evacuated remain in temporary shelters. Flood alerts have been issued along major rivers in central and northern Luzon. Flooding in communities along Manila Bay was expected to be exacerbated by a high tide starting at midday Saturday. Officials reported water up to two metres (six feet) deep in some communities in metropolitan Manila. R.Kelly was recently cleared of Child Porn charges, but the saga continues. He recently spoke out about the aftermath of the incident, and even uses the "not guilty" verdict as evidence that he did no wrong. However many people see him and his acts as a "problem." I am one who agrees that he has/had a problem. But I also applaud his power and performance in court to get himself off the hook and his efforts to learn from the experience and change his life. But then R. went back on TV and tried to find further redemption inthe court of public opinion when (I feel) he should have fallen back and stayed away from this sensitive subject of messin with young girls. Take a look back at the case and you be the judge. — by Jennifer Vineyard It's been more than six years since news broke about the videotape that allegedly shows R. Kelly having sex with an underage girl. The tape was a prime-time punch line for several months, and then seemingly faded into memory as the public either forgot about it, or assumed — given his ongoing success as a recording artist — that Kelly had been cleared. But the criminal charges against one of today's biggest-selling pop stars have not gone away. Kelly's not accused of just making a sex tape — he's accused of making child pornography. And if convicted, he'll face 15 years in prison. Kelly and his lawyers have alluded to a possible defense that would suggest the singer has been set up, that he's being blackmailed by a former manager. If the tape is proven to be authentic, however, whether or not Kelly's been blackmailed wouldn't matter in a court of law. If the singer is found to have done what his accusers claim he's done — to have videotaped himself performing sexual acts with his then-14-year-old goddaughter — then he'll be guilty, period. But how will the prosecution go about making their case? It might seem as if having the videotape would be proof enough, but the situation isn't that simple. Kelly claims that the man in the tape isn't him — and the purported victim (whose identity we won't reveal here) says the girl in the tape is not her, either, and the images on the tape are not clear enough to eliminate all doubt about the identity of the participants. This leaves the prosecution to attempt to prove three things: that the tape is authentic (not digitally or otherwise manipulated or distorted), that R. Kelly is indeed the man in it, and that the girl in the video was under the age of 18 when the tape was made. If the state's attorneys can prove these three things beyond a reasonable doubt, in all likelihood, Kelly will be found guilty. If not, he walks. But how will they prove those things? And how might Kelly's defense attorney respond? Amid the blizzard of news reports and updates that have arisen in the six years since this story first broke, it's been easy to lose sight of the basics. This article, originally published in 2004, takes a look.
Chris Sale struck out 10-plus for a record-tying eighth straight appearance and Jackie Bradley Jr. robbed Ryon Healy's would-be walk-off homer with a catch over the center-field wall in the ninth, but that wasn't enough to keep the A's from beating the Red Sox, as Mark Canha led off the 10th inning with a homer to finish a single shy of hitting for the cycle.
