A giant, life-size reproduction of Vienna's cream and orange Schonbrunn Castle dominated the eastern end of the Dome. Giant candelabras flickered over the heads of Rieu and his Johann Strauss orchestra and chorus. "It was an overwhelming experience. The warmth of the audience was overpowering." André Rieu billed his show as "a romantic Viennese night" and it was all of this and more. Dancers twirled on two 600m ice rinks and from palace balconies and in a ballroom scene. Fountains cascaded and splashed around classical sculptures on either end of the huge stage. Taken from the DVD 'André Rieu Live in Australia'. ............................................................ Original Waltzing Matilda Lyrics: Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong, Under the shade of a Coolibah tree, And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boil, You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me. Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda, You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me, And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boil You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me. Down came a jumbuck to drink at that billabong Up jumped the swagman and grabbed him with glee, And he sang as he shoved that jumbuck in his tucker bag You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me. Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda, You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me, And he sang as he shoved that jumbuck in his tucker bag You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me. Up rode the squatter mounted on his thorough-bred Down came the troopers One Two Three Whose that jolly jumbuck you've got in your tucker bag You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me. Waltzing Matilda Waltzing Matilda You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me Whose that jolly jumbuck you've got in your tucker-bag You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me. Up jumped the swagman sprang in to the billabong You'll never catch me alive said he, And his ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me. Waltzing Matilda Waltzing Matilda You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me And his ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me. ............................................................

Home Among the Gum Trees and Neighbours I've been around the world a couple of times, or maybe more, I've seen the sights, I've had delights on every foreign shore, but when my mates all ask me the place that I adore, I tell them right away. Give me a home among the gum trees, with lots of plum trees, a sheep or two, a ka-kangaroo. A clothes line out the back, verandah out the front, and an old rocking chair. 4. Neighbours Neighbours, Everybody needs good neighbours With a little understanding You can find the perfect blend Neighbours should be there for one another That's when good neighbours become good friends That's when good neighbours become good friends.

Andre Rieu - Advance Australia Fair 2008 (National anthem of Australia; australische Nationalhymne) Australians all let us rejoice, For we are young and free; We've golden soil and wealth for toil, Our home is girt by sea; Our land abounds in Nature's gifts Of beauty rich and rare; In history's page, let every stage Advance Australia fair! In joyful strains then let us sing: "Advance Australia fair!" Original lyrics Botany Bay: Farewell to old England forever, Farewell to my old pals as well, Farewell to the well--known Old Bailey Where once I used to look such a swell. Chorus: Singing too-ral, li-ooral, li-addity, Singing too-ral, li-ooral, li-ay, Singing too-ral, li-ooral, li-addity, And we're bound for Botany Bay. There's the captain as is our commander, There's the bo'sun and all the ship's crew, There's the first-- and the second--class passengers, Knows what we poor convicts go through. 'Taint leaving old England we cares about, 'Taint cos we mis-spells what we knows, But because all we light--fingered gentry Hops around with a log on our toes. These seven long years I've been serving now And seven long more have to stay, All for bashing a bloke down our alley And taking his ticker away. Oh had I the wings of a turtle--dove, I'd soar on my pinions so high, Slap bang to the arms of my Polly love, And in her sweet presence I'd die. Now all my young Dookies and Duchesses, Take warning from what I've to say: Mind all is your own as you toucheses Or you'll find us in Botany Bay.
