The sun has been setting on AK parts kits with prices going up and availability going down. I think the best deal out there right now is the Yugo M70B1 kit with US made barrel at Apex and if I had the cash, I'd buy another!
Palmetto State Armory sells a U.S. made rifle in the form of a "build kit." These kits are closer to assembling an AR from parts than actual AK building, but from all reports, the rifle is well-made and a good AKM clone. I reassemble the AK-74 that has been seen in many previous videos but this procedure can also be used to assemble the PSA AK Build Kit or any AKM/AK74 that is has already has a built receiver and a built barrel installed/head-spaced in the front trunnion.
http://flandres-gunworks.com/ In this video, I show you how to convert a 5.45x39 AK-74 parts kit to shoot 5.56x45. This is my third complete tutorial on building an AK pattern rifle from start to finish. I don't know why I keep making them, it's not like my other videos don't cover the same stuff, I guess I just like showing how to use different tools as in the video I show how to build the AK-74 using better tooling If you need to contact me, throw me a message over at the akfiles. username bfgmovies Table of Contents 0:00 intro 1:46 overview of parts and conversion parts 5:08 Interference fit 6:40 Barrel Installation and Headspacing 12:30 drilling gas port hole 13:13 pressing on barrel components 18:08 drilling barrel component holes 20:37 Pressing barrel component pins 23:28 Riveting trunnions 28:20 Pressing barrel Assembly back in 29:45 Riveting trigger guard 31:48 pressing barrel pin back in 33:48 painting and final assembly 40:36 final words and credits

PART 1: Building an AK underfolder from a Hungarian parts kit with a destroyed receiver and barrell. This segment follows me through demilling the receiver to salvage the front trunnions, rear trunnion, underfolding stock, trigger guard, and other parts. More in on this project at http://www.ammochannel.com/gun-build-the-scrap-metal-ak-47/ Needed parts (except the barrel) will be fabricated from scrap material I have on hand. This will include fabricating a receiver, trigger, disconnector, hammer. I am attempting to use basic tools as much as possible. In this live stream, I cover some of my preferred methods of kit finding and I answer some of the viewers questions. It gets a bit long. and is best suited to play in the background.
